1. Who these terms are between

This website and everything sold on it are operated by Budding Star, a storytelling business run by Akansha Bansal in India. Throughout this page, “I”, “me” and “Budding Star” mean the business; “you” means the person buying or downloading.

By placing an order, downloading a free storybook, joining a workshop or using this site, you agree to what follows. If something here does not sit right with you, please message me before you pay.

2. What I sell

• Printable PDF storybooks — ₹99 to ₹599. Illustrated stories and worksheet books, delivered as digital files.
• Personalized storybooks — ₹2,000 to ₹2,500. Written and illustrated around one child, delivered as a print-ready PDF. Printing is arranged by you.
• Live online workshops — storytelling and spiritual sessions for children aged 2.5–12, in small batches.
• The Storyteller Blueprint — 1:1 training for adults who want to write, illustrate and sell their own children’s stories.
• Free storybooks — three complete PDFs, in exchange for your name, email and WhatsApp number.

Every product page states the page count, age range and price. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. I may change prices at any time, but never for an order you have already paid for.

3. Placing an order and payment

• Payments are processed by Razorpay. UPI, debit cards, credit cards and net banking are accepted.
• I never see or store your card, UPI or bank credentials. Those stay with Razorpay and your bank.
• An order is confirmed once Razorpay confirms the payment. Until then, nothing is owed either way.
• If a payment fails but money leaves your account, it is normally reversed by your bank automatically within 5–7 working days. Message me and I will help you trace it.
• I may decline or cancel an order — with a full refund — where a payment is flagged, a price was published in error, or an order looks fraudulent.

4. Delivery of digital products

Everything is delivered digitally. Nothing is posted or couriered, so there is no shipping fee and no delivery address to give.

• Your download link appears on the confirmation screen immediately after payment.
• The same link is emailed to the address you entered, usually within a minute.
• Please enter your email carefully. A typo is the single most common reason a file does not arrive.
• If nothing has reached you within 2 hours, WhatsApp me on +91 97804 33945 and I will send it personally.

5. What you may and may not do with the files

When you buy a storybook, you get a personal, non-transferable licence for your own family. You keep it permanently.

You may

• Read the PDF on any of your own devices.
• Print it as many times as you like, for the children in your own home.
• Get it spiral-bound at a print shop for your own use.
• Use it with your own children in your own home, as often as you wish.

You may not

• ✕Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the files, in whole or in part.
• ✕Share the PDF or the download link publicly — on WhatsApp groups, Telegram, Drive links, Facebook groups or file-sharing sites.
• ✕Print copies to sell, or to hand out at a school, class, tuition centre or event, without a written licence from me.
• ✕Alter the stories or illustrations, remove my name, or present the work as your own.
• ✕Use the illustrations or text to train a machine-learning model.

If you are a school, preschool, library or society and want to use a storybook with a group of children, that is very welcome — just get in touch and I will arrange the right licence.

6. Copyright

Every story, illustration, worksheet, page layout, photograph and piece of writing on this site is original work owned by Budding Star and protected under Indian copyright law. Buying a book buys you the licence in section 5, not ownership of the work.

If you see my books being shared or sold without permission, please tell me. I follow up on every report, and I would much rather hear it from a parent than find it myself.

7. Workshops

• Workshops run live and online, in small batches, at the times announced when you book.
• A joining link is sent before the session. Please arrive on time — late arrivals unsettle a small group of small children.
• A parent or guardian is responsible for supervising their child during a session.
• Sessions may be recorded for internal review. If a recording will be shared publicly, I ask for consent first, in writing.
• Cancellation terms are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Personalized storybooks

• You provide the child’s name, age, personality, favourite things and photographs to draw from.
• By sending photographs you confirm you are the parent or guardian, or have their permission.
• Photographs are used only as reference for the illustrations, and are never published or shared without your written consent.
• You get two rounds of revisions on the draft. Once writing and illustration have begun, the fee is non-refundable.
• The finished PDF is licensed for your family’s personal use and printing. Copyright in the artwork and text stays with Budding Star.

9. What these books are, and are not

My storybooks are written to help children build values, confidence and emotional resilience, and every deity storybook was reviewed by a child psychologist. They are, however, storybooks — not medical, psychological or educational advice.

If you are worried about your child’s development, behaviour or wellbeing, please speak to a qualified paediatrician or child psychologist. A story is a lovely companion to that conversation; it is not a substitute for it.

10. Limits of liability

I take real care over every file, but I cannot promise the site will never go down or that a file will open on every device ever made. Where something does go wrong, my responsibility is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

I am not liable for printing costs, paper, binding, or anything else you spend with a third party, nor for indirect losses. Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Punjab, India. Before it ever comes to that, please message me — in nine years I have not had a problem that a conversation could not settle.

Changes to these terms

I may update this page as the business changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and the terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you paid.

Who you are buying from

Registered address and GSTIN are shared on request and appear on every invoice.
